When Winter Storm Uri slammed into the State of Texas, CISDR Site Coordinators sprang into action. At Burks Elementary in McKinney, Eva Madera handed out gloves before the storm hit, and at Landry Elementary in CFB ISD, Janette Garcia helped the school counselor gather blankets for kids who needed them. At Adamson High School in Oak Cliff, Juana Mendez has been helping families secure food and warm shelter.
In Greenville, Whitney Threatt has procured heaters and food for several Carver Elementary families. At Wilson Middle School in Plano, Emily Yount helped a family get rental assistance. Thank you to all of our generous donors and hard-working community partners who are helping our students and families get through this unprecedented storm and its aftermath.
