With students across the Dallas region starting an uncertain school year, members of the Dallas Chapter of ITServe Alliance presented a $20,000 donation to Communities In Schools of the Dallas Region (CISDR) this month, to support students across 13 campuses in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD (CFBISD).
Since its inception 35 years ago, CISDR has partnered with Dallas-area school districts like CFBISD to address the scarcity of basic resources, focusing on the social, psychological, and behavioral issues that hinder educational attainment, and providing mentoring, counseling, and guidance to advance achievement and scaffold students’ success.
“With the school year starting online, students are going to be physically separated from significant resources like technology, mental health intervention, and academic assistance,” said CISDR President & CEO Adam Powell. “ITServe’s generous donation will help us to better provide these services to students across CFBISD.”
ITServe Alliance has always been dedicated towards corporate social responsibility activities such as STEM education and support for underprivileged children. The Dallas chapter of ITServe has supported CISDR since 2018.
“Thanks to generous donors like ITServe, CISDR can continue to meet the needs of CFBISD students and families throughout the 2020-21 school year.” said CISDR Board Member Neel Gonuguntla. “I am proud to be part of this organization that is helping our kids cope through the pandemic and beyond.”
